Lighting at M&S – A/W 2016

A little interiors inspo for you today. All visual. No chit chat. Well not much. Whenever I say no chit chat, I normally managed to chuck a few words together and ramble on more than expected. See, i’ve already started. Let me show you my fave finds from M&S lighting department for this A/W 2016. I think you’re gonna like ’em. Madison Cluster Light Beautifully simple way of adding a touch of “boho glam” to your ethnic interior scheme. Doesn’t come with bulbs so don’t get caught out with that one. Add some to your basket. Mila Chandelier Wanting to channel your inner Abigail Ahern with an oversized beaded chandelier, but can’t quite afford the price tags? M&S are onto a “winner winner chicken dinner” with the Mila chandelier. At £299 it’s just about do-able, but obviously wait until one of their discount weekends where they offer 20% off. Don’t forget Topcashback too. If you’re savvy you might be able to own this corker of a light for about £220. Paloma Pendant Coming in three distinctive shapes …

The Drawing Room – Shopping List

As promised, the last time I wrote about the Drawing Room, I mentioned there’d be a blog post coming soon enough, with the shopping list for this room. I think it’s time you guys got to see what we’ve been busy finding (and buying) whilst we’ve been waiting for the new sash windows to go in. Ferm Living Lines Wallpaper from Cloudberry Living I’m sure you all remember this, but just incase you missed the last few posts about this project, this wallpaper is going around the whole room becoming the backdrop to everything inside. It’s going to be sooo good. As soon as the windows are in, it’s time for the wallpaper. Eeee! **does little dance** Euan Floor Lamp from Habitat There’s a yellow/brass theme going on in this room. Lots of little pops of “bright” to contrast against the dark blue wallpaper. Stockholm Glass Door Cabinet from Ikea This will become the drinks cabinet. Crystal glasses galore and obscure spirits are awaiting their new home. Glass and metallics will be used to bounce the light …

The Million Dollar Floor Lamp – Pt 2

Just a quickie today as i’m winding down for Chrimbles, as i’m sure you all are too. Do you remember this? A few months ago I wrote about the Million Dollar Floor Lamp.   Another little project for Sherwood Forest where some spray copper spray paint and a bespoke light shade were going to turn this plain, slightly battered white floor lamp into something rather spectacular. All for less than £60. My client wanted to wait until the walls were painted and rugs were in situ before we made a final decision on the shade. Our original choice from Detola & Geek had sold out, so after a lot of hunting around I finally decided upon this rather special little number from Bespoke Binny, aka Natalie Yaa Obenewa Thompson. African wax print lampshade – Bespoke Binny “Born in North London of Ghanaian descent, inspired by her West African roots, Natalie has designed a line of home furnishings that are reminiscent of a colourful African marketplace using a mixture of vibrant wax prints and cotton twills tailoring cushions, kitchen …
