Yes, it’s another round up post and today i’m showing you my top 10 lighting picks from Debenhams. It’s not somewhere I really look for…. well, anything, but their lighting department has been evolving over the past year or so (see this post) and i’d go as far as to say they’re giving BHS a run for their money in the affordable high-street lighting stakes.
Yes siree!
So in no particular order (but split into styles -ish), here are some corkers all for less than £150. Yippee!!
Home Collection – Pixie Pendant – £96.00
This pendant light from The Collection will add a contemporary update to your living space. Sculpted from metal, it features a slick black frame and is ideal for creating a modern ambience. Dimensions (HWD): 69 x 72 x 72cm
Absolute bargain 70cm diameter pendant light for less than a hundred squid. It would easily sit in a paired back Scandi scheme as well as a maximalist’s dream digs. The simple, opal glass shades keep glare to a minimum.
Home Collection – Carla Pendant – Now £144.00
This pendant light from The Collection will reinvigorate a home with its industrial-inspired style. Perfect for complementing a range of décor designs, it is complete with an iron frame in a classic copper hue. Dimensions (HW): 32 x 65cm
In a similar style to the Pixie light above, but in a dull metallic finish and adjustable height for those of you with higher ceilings.
Home Collection – Liliana LED Pendant –Now £128.00
This pendant light from The Collection combines industrial-inspired style with contemporary design. Suspended from wire, this light comprises a slick bar lined with white orbs that will create a modern ambience. Dimensions (HWD): 100 x 82 x 22.5cm
A metre long. 100cm! Did you get that? This would be perfect for above a dining table or glamorous kitchen island.
J by Jasper Conran – Jaden Pendant – Now £144.00
Retro-inspired style meets contemporary design in this pendant light from our exclusive J by Jasper Conran range. Lending an architectural edge to any room, it features a cluster of lights on a gold-toned frame. Dimensions (HWD): 44 x 78 x 78cm
And this gold toned fixed height pendant would sit quite pretty over a bed, in a grand entrance hallway or taking pride of place in a living room with lower ceilings.
Home Collection – Black Glass Bead ‘Camille’ Chandelier – Now £128.00
Crafted in a stunning black design, this ‘Camille’ chandelier is a luxurious finishing touch for any room. Detailed with black glass beads, it pairs perfectly with a decorative filament effect LED bulb. Dimensions (HW): 35 x 30cm
I really like this but alas, it would ridiculous in my 60’s, non-period features home. It’s not huge, so would need to be hung in a smallish room as the main, feature light. Love that matte black finish and chunky ass lighting chain.
Abigail Ahern/EDITION – Blue Beaded Pendant Ceiling Light – £120.00
Add Abigail Ahern’s luxurious aesthetic to any room with this metal and wood pendant light. Perfect for creating a bohemian vibe, this piece is adorned with stunning wooden beads and finished with gunmetal details. Dimensions (HD): 160 x 36cm
Similar vibe to the black Camille light before, the Abigail Ahern metal and wood pendant light offers a slightly softer, more romantic version of the beaded style chandeliers.
Abigail Ahern/EDITION – String and Bead Cream Easyfit Shade – £64.00
Add a dose of bohemian style to the home with this stunning lamp shade from Abigail Ahern. Crafted from string with stylish wooden beads, this piece fits easily over ceiling fittings without the need for an electrician.
This is something i’ve actually got Pinned for a project i’m currently working on. Not sure if they’ll go for it… but if they want to keep the lighting situation simple as, for a bohemian bedroom design, then they’d be hard pressed to find something simpler than this.
Home Collection – Ombre Tassel ‘Blossom’ Flush Ceiling Light – Now £96.00
Make a statement with this beautiful ‘Blossom’ flush light. Draped with stunning ombre tassels, this piece is perfect for hanging in the living room or above the bed to lend a luxe feel to the room. Dimensions (HD): 82 x 50cm
Now this is my wild card choice. It’s a marmite light and will only work in the right kind of design. Easiest to work into a bedroom or some fancy pants dressing room, or if you wanted to add some real drama to your living room then this be a sure fire way of doing it (especially if it was hanging over a pink velvet, circular ottoman).
Home Collection – Frosted Glass and Wood ‘Lizzie’ Pendant Ceiling Light – £48.00
This ‘Lizzie’ pendant light is crafted with wood and metal detailing for modern style. Perfect for the bedroom, it showcases a frosted glass pendant. Dimensions (HW): 27 x 23cm
Something for the purists out there. A simple mid-century brass, glass and brass pendant light. This would look great hanging over a vintage desk as the wooden disc directs the light downwards.
Jack Task Flush Ceiling Light – £128.00
Bring contemporary style to the home with this ‘Jack’ flush ceiling light. Crafted in a black powder coated metal with copper details, this piece is perfect for creating task lighting in the kitchen or office, and features adjustable arms and heads for easy positioning. Dimensions (HW): 40 x 125cm
And saving my favourite until last. It was actually fellow Interior Design Collective member, Fiona Duke that shared this with our group and it turns out Tamsin Leech-Griffiths of No. 8 Project has already used this in one of her projects:
I love it and not so secretly would like to have this in our living room. 125cm diameter!! It’s a beast. Comes with a matching floor lamp and wall light too.
Home Collection – Black and Copper Metal ‘Jack’ Wall Light – £55.00
Perfect for pairing with a matching table light and ceiling light (No, please, really don’t match your ceiling, wall and floor lamps, people. Unless you want to look like you live in a Next catalogue) this ‘Jack’ wall light is crafted in a black powder coated metal with copper details for a refined finish. Its adjustable head makes it ideal for attaching either side of the bed to use as a reading light.
So there are my top 10, with a Brucey Bonus wall light thrown in for good measure. Which one is your favourite then? If there’s one that does make it into your shopping basket, don’t forget to find a discount code online or go through Topcashback.
Happy shopping y’all!
ooh, I was planning to get the Ogilvy light from Made for our study https://www.made.com/ogilvy-fixed-multi-pendant-matt-black-and-antique-brass
but I think I prefer the Jack one now. I didn’t really fancy copper but this looks more subtle, dull rather than shiny. Just seen this one for £55 in French Connection though

decision time tomorrow…
Decisions decisions…. 🙂
They’re all pretty different sizes. The Jack light is 125cm wide!! So be sure to check it’s going to be in proportion with your room. FC light is much more industrial. MADE light, you can direct the light with the move-able heads. Just depends on what size/style room and function you need I guess…!?
So lovely to see this post just when I’m researching lighting for home. Having a pretty comprehensive update in an area where I love the lighting I’ve had for years, but now need to renew [sad face emoji] I think the Jack collection will be perfect and I think we do have the space.
I will be comparing it with one I’ve seen on your blog before. I’m going to track down that post now. Hold the line, caller…
Ooh good. Glad it’s come at a good time. Let me know what you decided upon (am nosey)!!
I don’t have a particularly boho home but I do like that tassle light, it’s so unusual!
Nice init!?
Hey Karen, I know this is an older piece, but really rather taken with the Jack task light and it seems to have been discontinued by Debenhams. Do you know of something similar?
