Because sometimes things take a little longer than planned… here’s Pt 2 of the pre-reveal. I wasn’t planning a Pt 2, but I also wasn’t planning for one of the light fittings to be broken, for the curtains to be such a pain (why are curtains always such a pain?) or for the electrician to be quite as elusive (why are electricians always elusive?)
But we’re about a week away from being done. After a four hour picture framing, gallery wall hanging, plant moving, nik nak fiddling session yesterday, I couldn’t possibly wait to share some pics I snapped before I left.
Mantel piece styling with pieces from Ikea, Wayfair, H&M Home and…..
… this super cool, not freaky at all black and gold hand from the very talented Muck N Brass.
The cinema style wall light from Rockett St George looking tip top above the home bar (still to be stocked). Still a bit more work to do here (small shelf… vinyl… more booze).
Every mantel piece needs a trailing plant. It’s like the law. So here’s the obligatory ivy for added drama and greenery all rolled into one. And you can just about see the gallery wall taking shape in the reflection here. Currently awaiting frames…
The Fading World Medallion rug from Louis De Poortere was just what this room needed. A subtle mix of charcoals, blacks and off whites. Enough to anchor the room but not too busy to fight with the glorious House of Hackney Peacock and Dragon fabric used to reupholster the ottoman and chaise longue.
Flipping love this fabric. Unfortunately, it’s been discontinued since we ordered the very last few metres. Looks like we bagged the last roll. Lucky ducks.
I have to mention the Alfred Anaglypta wallpaper, which makes such a difference to the room. It’s almost like the walls are covered in fabric. Being painted in this dark shade it really highlights the textured pattern making the room feel so luxurious and cosy.
I was rather amused to hear how many of you either loved or hated the palm tree floor lamp, (again from Rockett St George). It’s certainly not for everyone, but it doesn’t half look canny in this room.

And that’s as much as you’re getting today peeps. I soooo wanted to show you the room finished…. but it looks like November will be the lucky month for the final reveal. But still, it is certainly looking a lot different to when I first visited no?
Very nearly After (this is where the original entrance was by the way)
As always, I love hearing what you all think. I really hope you like where it’s all going… One last push and we’re done. Massive whoop!
AH. Can’t wait to see the reveal ! Such a beautiful couch, should be hard to put any cushion on it, right ? Not my style at all but I love how bold it is. Cheers !
It’s looking great Karen! Can I ask where one of the pieces of art is from, the lady with the 3 coloured smears?
Cheers Simon, that print was from Society 6!
Loving the anaglypta – can I ask what colour paint you chose? Thanks.
It’s Little Greene Lamp Black 🙂
