Remember I introduced you to Pantone’s Colours of the Year in January ? Since then i’ve seen Rose Quartz and Serenity popping up everywhere. From artwork to marketing, interiors and fashion, even influencing a current Making Spaces project.
Pantone have since released their “colour report” for Spring 2016. A palette chosen by top industry experts to compliment and contrast both the blush pink and iris-y blue.
“Like a serene sunset, flushed cheek or budding flower, Rose Quartz reminds us to reflect on our surroundings during the busy but lighthearted spring and summer months.”
“Weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, Serenity comforts with a calming effect, bringing a feeling of respite even in turbulent times. A transcendent blue, Serenity provides us with a naturally connected sense of space.”
The “Transporting and Transformative”optimistic palette is no shrinking violet. This ten strong colour canvas is rocking some real stand out colours, ready to add a spring to your step this Spring 2016.
As you probably know, I’m not the biggest “brights” fan for interiors. I love colour, but am normally drawn to the moodier side of the colour-wheel. There is one space however i’m not afraid to take over to the bright side. And that’s the outside. In the garden. The brighter, the bolder the better. And there is one particular colour from the ten above i’ve been adding more and more of.
“A strong and fiery, yellow-based red, the vivid Fiesta provides a stark contrast to the calming, softer nature of this season’s palette.”
Red.
I tend to stick with two accent colours for decor, lippie, clothes, handbags, shoes….. One is, hot pink. Fuschia, Cerise whatever you want to call it. And the other is red. A clean fiery red.
It’s THE perfect colour for spring, especially as my bright red tulips have finally bloomed at the bottom of the garden. Fiesta will boldly follow us through to summer. Look hot to trot at the autumn bonfire and stay festive with us over the Christmas period. An excellent choice by Pantone. Well done chaps.
As always, my mission to bring you bang on trend design for all of your rooms and spaces continues. I’ve teamed up with View Quest, the style savvy technology brand to run my very first GIVE AWAY. Whoop!
Let me add some colour to one of your spaces with one of these ace VQ Retro Mini radios. You can win one just by simply leaving a comment below with your favourite colour. Simples.
“At VQ we believe that colour is an important part of who we are, so why should the technology we buy only be Black or Silver?”
Couldn’t agree more. Technology can be so dull. There’s certainly a place for black and silver, but everyone should be able to have a bright pop of radio to keep them company in the garden right?
The Retro Mini DAB Radio with Bluetooth connectivity is the perfect choice for my garden. Small and super portable, bringing a splash of Pantone “Fiesta” to the outdoors. Well anywhere really, as it runs as happily on 4 AA’s as it does plugged into the mains. The musical world is officially my oyster.
Me and my Mini Retro. Old skool.
The sound quality is great for such a tiddler. The 10W speaker being easily loud enough to be heard across our garden. I can connect my phone, tablet, MP3 player or any other smart device via Bluetooth or use the 3.5mm aux input. Even better, it can charge my phone through its inbuilt USB port at the same time.
All bases. Officially covered.
If you’d like to get your mitts on a VQ Retro Mini, all you’ve gotta do is leave a comment below with your favourite colour out of the eleven in their range.
Have a good snoop over at the VQ site if you can’t decide. I loved them all but, true to form was really torn between the Hot Pink and Red.
But I think I made the right decision with my Pantone inspired “Fiesta” red don’t you?
So, which colour would you choose? Is it one of the colours from Pantone’s Spring Colour Report? All you’ve got to do is leave your comment below and we could soon be radio buddies. Feel free to join me over on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram too where the lucky winner will be announced.
** T&C’s. This give-away is open to UK residents only, ending on Sunday 22nd May at 11.59pm. The randomly selected winner will be chosen on Monday 23rd and notified. View Quest will send a Retro Mini, colour of their choice directly to the chosen winner.**
Good luck!
The review and giveaway is in collaboration with View Quest who very kindly gifted me the Retro Mini. All words and opinions are my own. Always. I only ever work with brands that I love and think you will love too.

Mustard for me too – normally not into yellow but think it looks fab!
Radiant Orchid Karen……
I’m currently obsessed with turquoise, that’s the one for me. So fresh and spring like.
Your garden is lovely Karen! Those bright red tulips are gorgeous and your red radio looks so happy in your garden! Lovely red pruning shears too! 🙂 I love that you’ve made your pallet coffee table into a planter. I’m thinking of a pallet coffee table for the lounging area in my patio, so this is lovely inspiration!
The VQ Retro Mini radios are so cute. I would’ve entered last night except I couldn’t decide on which colour, they’re all lovely! After MUCH deliberation, I’ll say Emerald.
Great giveaway! xx
Ooh I love the Emerald too Meera. Good choice!x
Inspired by my growing obsession with house plants (16 and counting)… it’ll blend right in with them, if I win 🙂
I was getting ready to say purple, but I actually really like the mustard, very Orla Kiely!
I absolutely adore the Orchid mini radio as this would make me smile before I switch it on every morning. Fingers crossed
Has to be mustard, it’s so bright and warm
I adore the Orchid it would make me smile every morning before I switched it on, Emerald is also a stunning colour, fingers crossed
This is a choice I never thought I’d make but…I’d have to go with pink!
I’ve accidentally-on-purpose decorated the majority of my house in blue, my favourite colour, and I think that hot pink would look great in any room as a real pop of colour.
Great giveaway lovely x
loving the orchid
Is it wrong to be in love with all of the colours 🙂 Ok if I have to pick one it has to be purple to match the roses in my garden and to add a pop of colour and audio joy to my life. My fingers are crossed :0)
Pink, pink, to make the boys wink!
Please.
Love the RED
The teal is just gorgeous – so fifties and would fit really well with the seaside tones in our bedroom
Ohh I love your garden! Mine is such a disaster, it’s too big and unmanageable.
I absolutely love the blue radio. It’s such a nice shade of blue. Oh and I’m sure some amazing music would totally be a great motivator and source of entertainment while gardening.
Laura x
Mustard mate. Great blog by the way!
I would really like a teal one if I win please.
I love the teal, no reason I just like it.
My favourite is serenity in fact it’s given me some inspiration for redecorating my front room. Would love to
Win the VQ retro radio to listen to some tunes when I’m doing the make over.
It would be the red for me too, it’s lovely & my favourite colour
I’m going to go all out for summer flowers colours and say ORCHID! Not a colour I have around my house at all, but I can see it brightening my mood on the dullest days and adding a big splash of style.
Purple for me – would have it in my conservatory and listen to The Archers on it every day
Teal or Emerald? Teal or Emerald? I think it’s gotta be Emerald.
Black for me, it would go with any decor
Loving the Teal colour! Very unusual and looks like a lovely summery shade. But to be honest there isn’t a bad colour amongst them!
Great colours! I’m torn between teal and mustard but I think teal just gets it. Really like what you’ve done with the pallet, your garden looks fab
I’m obsessed with the colour teal at the moment so a teal radio would be perfect!
I would have to choose the Hot Pink. It is so bright and would stand out in any room.
Love the Orchid one.
Definitely Teal – its such a gorgeous colour, really eyecatching and would look brilliant in my kitchen!
Mustard! Love the range of colours, but this is my favourite.Teal was a close contender though.
I love the cream then I could take it around the house and it would fit in anywhere. The range of colours is beautiful though. We are moving in just under 3 weeks time and I’m trying to be brave with colours but keep coming back to my neutrals! Lol X
I’m torn between blue and teal, a bit like yourself with the pink and red, but I think the Teal is just such a lovely vibrant colour that would be my ultimate choice. They are so lovely I’d like several in different colours 😉
Purple as it matches the bruising on your mum’s ankle! Pops
I love the Teal colour!
