Do come in. (And please take off your shoes… new rugs.)
A reminder of before:
As the project breaks for Christmas, I wanted to show you where we’re at since starting work on it in mid-October.
This time next month, we should have completed this room. We are so nearly there.
I convinced my clients to bring the piano from the hallway into the living room. Originally a bespoke designed study area was planned for this corner, but i’m so pleased the piano made it into the living room instead. It fits perfectly and looks stunning, but more importantly it brings someone’s great love of playing piano into the heart of the home. The morning after the piano was positioned here, I had this message from my client:
“Played the piano tonight for the first time in months, probably over a year. It’s totally absorbing, like meditation. Thank you.”
Best feeling ever!
Good design, I believe, can change the way we live. Enhance our living and working spaces, make us feel better. These are the things I find most important and what makes my job so extremely satisfying.
There are more pieces to be hung on this gallery wall. And i’m sure as time moves on my clients will continue finding more wonderful oddities to add to their new green room.
The floorboards will be sanded and stained after Christmas. A bit back to front, I know, but sometimes if you waited for all of the pieces to be in the right order, you’d never get past the first step.
Time to relax.
The new year will bring us the completed Sherwood Forest project with furniture, more lighting, floorboards all shiny and new, bespoke joinery…. and most probably more taxidermy. You like?
Tbc….
This is looking so fantastic and really atmospheric. I’m feeling inspired to rip out the hideous fireplace in my livingroom now.
Yes Stacey! Do it, do it!!
That colour just makes ALL the difference – it’s amazing. I adore their eclectic mix of things as well, it’s just a very cool space now! You’ve done a wonderful job so far! xx
Thanks so much. We’re all really pleased with how it’s gone so far 🙂 xx
I am in LOVE with that feather pendant! It’s all looking great. x
Can you believe it’s £28 from B&Q?? I love it too!x
I really like the big round mirror it must have been well masked off to get that sharp edge of gold paint on the inside. It’s nearly there!!
Oh, i’ll tell you all about the “masking tape” when I see you. Let’s just say….. i’ll stick to my method thank you very much!
I love this- You’ve a great eye for colour
