Still so much to do on this project, but I managed to take this yesterday, so wanted to share quickly.
The bed from UK Bed Store is now up and at ’em and is super sturdy and looks great against that dark inky blue. A great find at £143 with free delivery. And a courtesy call the following day to check all was well. How nice is that?
The chest of drawers were bagged for £10 on Gumtree. I gave them a good sand to remove bits of paint and the like, and they’ve had some new drawer knobs fitted (which were left over from my recent Ikea Hemnes furniture update). They just need a light wax now to bring the grain back out and seal the wood. They were originally destined for a paint job, but you know what, the client loves them au natural. And so do I. They looked ever so orange when I picked them up. But, after a sand to get rid of the thick varnish and against that blue wall it adds some warmth to the room. Made for each other. And £10!!!
I’m afraid to say it was an epic fail getting the vintage wardrobe up the two flights of stairs. So I am on to Plan B with that little problem. It looks like flat pack is the only way to go which is a real shame, but I am determined to find something that will work in the space. To be continued…
And one more photo before I go for today (told you it was a quickie). My client and I had a great trip to our local charity furniture shop and found this little badger. A 1960’s dressing table with original mirrors, with oak veneer and black trim. Look at those mid-century legs with the little black feet! Gorgeous. It was a little pricier than the drawers at £70, but it will be a real statement piece in this bedroom. Client seems happy enough with it don’t you think? 🙂
Hope you like what you’ve seen so far? I’m off to B&Q again now to get some more paint mixed for all the woodwork. Big job to start tomorrow me thinks.
Can’t wait to show you guys more!
